Helping Hayfever/Allergy Sufferers
The general belief is that hayfever is a reaction to pollen of various plants, especially trees, grass and weeds. It usually occurs annually, most frequently in the spring and autumn but may be present all year round. People are frequently allergic to the hair of animals particularly cats and horses and this can cause very similar reactions and can also be treated very successfully.
Hayfever symptoms can include a stinging, tickling or prickly sensation in the nose with a watery discharge, sneezing, itching and watering of the eyes and swelling of the mucous membranes in the nose and mouth. There may be coughing or difficulty breathing with a feeling of being smothered, much the same as in asthma.
One of the main chemicals released in the body of those suffering with allergies (including hayfever) is called Histamine. It is mainly this chemical that causes the symptoms that affect hayfever sufferers.
Rather than subduing the symptoms to a tolerable level, a better alternative is to look at the underlying problem. Hayfever and other allergies are normally caused because the immune system is over reacting to substances in the environment. The endocrine system can often be needing to be balanced as this can be affected also.
Using kinesiology treatments, possibly supplements, and herbal remedies called homoeobotanicals, I have had very good results helping hayfever sufferers. Looking at people’s diet is often a very good area to begin. Many people have diets with 80% of their food intake coming from a staggeringly limited 10 foods. Considering how many meats, grains, vegetables, fruit, pulses etc. available to us in this day and age, this is quite worrying. Wheat may often show as a food the person has built up intolerance to over a period of time. If this is a component, it can have a huge effect on the body and can also be dealt with in the treatments.
Some of the different techniques used in a kinesiology treatment are very helpful in stimulating the body’s lymphatic system, balancing out the immune system, clearing out old body habits and learning a new way to react to these substances.
The number of treatments required can vary from person to person, however I would recommend a course of weekly treatments for 4 weeks, then fortnightly for a couple of sessions, and then normally they can be reduced to monthly for another couple of sessions.
It makes life much more enjoyable to be free of the symptoms that can go along with hayfever and allergies so why not give yourself a break and book some appointments now.
